The 12-16 Rookie Club is part of the Buckmore Junior Series offering competitive sprint racing for 8- 16 year olds. Race meetings take place on the full International Circuit and all safety equipment is provided.

Key Information

Format

Each race meeting comprises a short practice session for every driver which is followed by three points scoring heats for each driver to determine grid positions for the finals. All drivers will compete in a final.

Participant Restrictions

The minimum age to take part in this event is 12 and the maximum age is 16. Potential drivers must have successfully completed a minimum of one training lesson at Buckmore Park or similar at another circuit. Proof of lap times or grades achieved elsewhere will be required.

Duration

The total time at the circuit is approximately 2½hrs from your arrival to departure.

15:30 Arrival & Registration

16:00 Drivers Briefing (parents very welcome)

16:30 - 17:30 Practice, 3 heats for each driver and a final for each driver.

17:45 Presentation of awards

Championship Details

Junior Rookie races do not form part of a championship, and are one off races each time. A Rookie driver can be eligible to move up to the 13-16 Pro Championship Class after having competed in a minimum of three Rookies races and a discussion with the race director. The 13-16 Pro class features this season a 4 round winter championship of which the best 3 scores will count. This allows for missed a round or to drop a disappointing result.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome. We have a state-of-the-art clubhouse facility featuring a Café serving hot and cold food, and an upper tier balcony which provides a dynamic view of the whole circuit.

Cafeteria

The cafe will be open during the session for the purchase of hot and cold refreshments.

Dress Code

The driver to be dressed in comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, preferably trainers or similar flat shoes. All the safety equipment necessary will be provided.

Weather

We operate in all weathers so please check the weather forecast before you travel and pack a change of clothes if rain looks likely. Only in the most extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) will there be a possibility of your session being postponed or cancelled.
