The 12-16 Rookie Club is part of the Buckmore Junior Series offering competitive sprint racing for 8- 16 year olds. Race meetings take place on the full International Circuit and all safety equipment is provided.
Each race meeting comprises a short practice session for every driver which is followed by three points scoring heats for each driver to determine grid positions for the finals. All drivers will compete in a final.
The minimum age to take part in this event is 12 and the maximum age is 16. Potential drivers must have successfully completed a minimum of one training lesson at the Buckmore Park or similar at another circuit. Proof of lap times or grades achieved elsewhere will be required.
The total time at the circuit is approximately 6½hrs from your arrival to departure.

On the day, the Junior series is run in two race categories, Junior Rookie & Junior Pro. The Pro drivers aged 8-13 years olds drive the 160cc Junior Sodi Karts. The Rookie drivers are split into two overlapping age classes (8-13 and 12-16) to allow for different growth rates and weights. They too drive the 160cc Junior Sodi Karts. There are trophies for the top three in all classes.
A Rookie driver can be eligible to move up to the 13-16 Pro Class after having competed in a minimum of three races and a discussion with the race director. The Junior Pro class features an 8 round championship of which the best 6 scores will count. This allows for missed rounds or to drop a disappointing result. Junior Rookie races do not form part of a championship, and are one off races each time.

Spectators are welcome. We have a state-of-the-art clubhouse facility featuring a Café serving hot and cold food, and an upper tier balcony which provides a dynamic view of the whole circuit.
The cafe will be open during the session for the purchase of hot and cold refreshments.
The driver to be dressed in comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, preferably trainers or similar flat shoes. All the safety equipment necessary will be provided.
We operate in all weathers so please check the weather forecast before you travel and pack a change of clothes if rain looks likely. Only in the most extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) will there be a possibility of your session being postponed or cancelled.
All payments made are non-refundable, it may be possible to transfer your booking, but it would be subject to an admin fee.
