Get ready for an exhilarating, adrenaline-pumping, fun day out and race for Demelza Hospice Care for Children at Buckmore Park Race Circuit!
Raising funds for the Demelza Machu Picchu Challenge 2024*, this Go-Karting fundraiser is an exciting endurance format which gives family, friends and colleagues a great opportunity to compete as a team, whilst supporting an amazing charity that provides important and necessary specialist care and emotional support to seriously ill children and their families!
Your team of 3-4 people will take part in a 2-hour ‘Le Mans’ style race around the full 1,000m international circuit, competing against up to 24 teams to take the chequered flag. It’s all about strategy, pit stops and working together…. mostly….because to add even further fun and excitement into the mix and to raise even more for Demelza, there will be a ‘Bids for Grid Position’ auction and ‘Buy extra laps’ options to get you ahead! At the end of your race there will be a Trophy presentation to the top 3 winners of the charity race and recognition will also be given to the “true” race team.
Spectators are more than welcome on the day and can get involved in the fun by buying extra laps for their favourite team! There will also be a raffle with some great prizes to be won and with onsite catering facilities, you can grab a snack and drink whilst watching the activities.

To round off your day and celebrate your karting success with your fellow competitors, why not join us for some Live Music and a drink in the bar!
At 8.30pm, after the trophy presentation, brilliant local band, The Itemize, have kindly donated their time to play the best pop, rock & indie music from the 60’s to now, keeping you entertained until midnight.
All are welcome, even if you have not taken part in the Go-Karting race and tickets can be purchased separately. See below for ticket options and to book.

• Karting team entry & Live Music event - £300 (up to 4 drivers per team incl. access to live music event)
• Karting Team Entry Only - £260 (up to 4 drivers per team)
• Live Music event - £15 (Spectators and non-karter access to live music event)
Event Notes
Participant Restrictions: The minimum age to take part is 16 (16 & 17 year-olds must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 plus). The minimum height to safely operate our karts is 5ft (152cm) and the maximum height is 6’4” (195cm).
Dress Code: Please bring comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, preferably trainers or similar flat shoes. All the safety equipment necessary will be provided.
Weather: Please check the weather forecast before you travel and pack a change of clothes if rain looks likely. Only in the most extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) will there be a possibility of your session being postponed or cancelled.
*Amanda Harrison, Becky Servais and Kirsty Wood have taken on the challenge of raising funds for Demelza Hospice Care for Children by participating in the Demelza Machu Picchu Challenge in 2024. All money raised from this event and associated activities on the day will go directly towards this great cause.
