The Buckmore Junior Series offers competitive sprint racing for 8- 16 year olds. Race meetings take place on the full International Circuit and all safety equipment is provided.

Key Information

Format

Each race meeting comprises a short practice session for every driver which is followed by three points scoring heats for each driver to determine grid positions for the finals. All drivers will compete in a final.

Participant Restrictions

The minimum age to take part is 12 and the maximum age is 16. Potential drivers must have successfully completed a minimum of one junior training lesson at Buckmore Park or similar at another circuit. Copies of approved grades or laptimes achieved elsewhere are required to assess eligability.

Duration

The total time at the circuit is approximately 6½hrs from your arrival to departure.

11:30 - 15:30 Practice, 3 heats for each driver and a final for each driver.

Classes

The Junior series is run in two race categories, Junior Rookie & Junior Pro. The Pro drivers aged 8-13 year olds drive the 160cc Junior Sodi Karts. The Rookie drivers are split into two overlapping age classes (8-13 and 12-16) to allow for different growth rates and weights. They too drive the 160cc Junor Sodi Karts. There are trophies for the top three in all classes.

Championship Details

The Junior Pro class features a 4 round championship of which the best 3 scores will count. This allows for a missed rounds or to drop a disappointing result. Junior Rookie races do not form part of a championship, and are one off races each time.

Please note: A Rookie driver can be eligible to move up to the Pro Class after having competed in a minimum of three races and a discussion with the race director.

Spectators

Cafeteria

The cafe will be open during the event for the purchase of hot and cold refreshments.

Dress Code

Please wear comfortable, weather approprate clothing and suitable footwear, preferably trainers or similar flat shoes. All the safety equipment necessary will be provided.

Weather

Please check the weather forecast before you travel and pack a change of clothes if rain looks likely. Only in the most extreme weather conditions (i.e. ice or snow) will there be a possibility of the event being postponed or cancelled.

All payments made are non-refundable. It may be possible to transfer your booking, but it would be subject to an admin fee.
