Participant Restrictions

The minimum age to take part is 8 and the maximum age is 16. Potential drivers must have successfully completed a minimum of one training lesson at the Buckmore Kart School or similar and provide approved grades achieved elsewhere.

Classes

The Junior series is run in two race categories, Junior Rookie & Junior Pro. The Rookie drivers are split into two overlapping age classes (8-13 and 12-16) to allow for different growth rates and weights. The Pro drivers also race in two age groups. Ages 8-13 year olds drive the 160cc Junior Sodi Karts and the 13-16 year old drivers use 390cc Sodi karts (assessment required). There are trophies for the top three in all classes.

Championship Details

The Junior Pro class features an 8 round championship of which the best 6 scores will count. This allows for missed rounds or to drop a disappointing result. Junior Rookie races do not form part of a championship, and are one off races each time. ####Please note: A Rookie driver can be eligible to move up to the Pro Class after having competed in a minimum of three races and a discussion with the race director.
